Complete SEO Myth Presentation
November 3, 2008I know this is quite a late post for me to provide you a link on where to find the SEO myth that I have discussed on my previous post. But it is better late than never so you could download or even view the said discussion during the Google Webmaster chat. The said series of presentation can be found on the post of Google Webmaster blog (which can be found at http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2008/10/reflections-on-tricks-and-treats.html).
It will make thigs clear for you. Any beliefs that you should discarded and consider will be discussed on this presentation. I am actually using the said SEO stuff from the Google experts on my Busby SEO Test target. Hope that it could be very effective and I can fully understand every single strategy to use to grab a winning from this kind of competition. I am conducting this experiments to prove every single idea presented on the said chat sessions with the search engine makers. All I am wishing for right now is I could have a great conclusion that I can make use of my daily SEO test in my internet life.
SEO Myth Discussed in Google’s Webmaster Chat
October 23, 2008Last night at exactly 12 am Philippines time (9am PDT), I attended a webmaster chat of Google which participated by big time Googlers and different SEO and webmasters from different part of the world. One important part of the chat was to presentation of John Mueller who presented the different SEO myth. Here are some of those myth:
- Duplicate content will hurt your site. This myth was dispprove by John since according to him, their system is capable of identifying the importance and relevance of duplication of content on the site and it does not matter at all as long as it shows its purpose.
- Getting listed in 1000s of SE and directories are important. Actually I have heard this from an acquaitance and I thought this was true but its only myth. According to him, it is not necessary to make you rank. The most important is the relevant of the inbound link and quality content of the site.
- Adwords or Adsense or Analytics will help or harm your site. I almost become a believer of this myth because I’ve seen how Google immediately read the sites I am optimizing with this cool tools from them but according to them this is not a case and actually does not included on their algorithms.
- If a keyword is important, it’s important to repeat it in important locations on important pages so that the page looks more important to important search engines. But as explained, there’s no optimal keyword density and as John said, write for your user and not to the search engines.
These are just some of the myth that is explained from this event. I will add more of it later. I hope this disapproval of SEO myths will help me with the contest called Busby SEO Test, that I am currently participating.
